Paris At Midnight

Just back from Paris and I confess a little jet-lagged!
"Paris At Midnight", Woody Allen's new and magical art movie was the most wonderful two hour journey that I have taken in years. TWO HOURS of the City of Lights on the big screen with a sound track featuring the music of Cole Porter that was absolutely bliss. The well imagined plot of travelling back in time to another period (several) that we may romantisize about was the perfect vehicle to remind us how difficult it is sometimes to truly appreciate where we are today - at this precise moment in history. Historical perspective not only gives us clarity but also allows us to burnish the edges and soften the rough spots. It's important to pause and reflect on the great uniquness of this moment in life. The real message was simply to follow your dreams no matter how irrational they seem to anyone else. Always be true to your instincts and never be swayed.
I was recently told a story where from childhood a friend had always been told by their parents "The diiference between Success and Failure was how long you held on". Paris at Midnight encourages us all to reach for the dream - and life will be a wonderful journey.

Still dancing in my head - I immediately went online and purchased some of the great Cole Porter music featured in the movie. Get Cole Porter's "De Loverly" collection and be transported to your next chapter.
